My blogosphere..............

What are blogs? There are now millions of them and where did they all come from? I have no idea where they came from, except someone started this form of on-line journaling A.K.A Blogs. It has taken off from there. On that note………..

Just a little FYI about me, I love to read Blogs. I read several blogs a day. Some are my friends and some are from people I have never met before. I love to read them. There are some that I know don’t post but once a week, like I do. There are some I check daily because the post several times a week. I laugh along with funny ones and I cry along with the sad ones. I just love to read blogs

I can’t explain why I love to read them. I just do. I don’t know why I read ones from people I don’t even know, but I just do. How do I find the blogs of people I don’t know? Well it usually is from a link on a friend’s web site and it goes from there.

When I start reading a new blog I usually start with the most recent entry. If it catches me then I go back and read just about all the entries. How do I find the time to do this you ask? Well it is usually sitting on my couch with a laptop on hand. TV has gotten so boring lately that I need something to keep me from falling asleep. I love to surf the internet while watching TV. I start by checking all the blogs I read. Then if there are no new posts I then just see what blogs they have on their favorites.

There is a couple that I read where the author has lost their son or daughter to cancer. Sometimes those can be tough to read, but I keep reading them. I usually sit there with tears running down my face as I read them. I personally think the toughest lose is a child. No one should have to bury his or her child. I feel for each one of these women that I have never met. They have their moments or days of feeling down, but they still write about their grieving in a very public way. It is good therapy for them. Each of them are strong women. I send them my mental prayers and cyber hugs.

I of course read all my friends and family’s blogs or at least the ones that I know about. I try to comment on them every once in a while. Just so they know I read them, also because I love getting comments on my blog. I find it as a way to keep up with each other’s life on a daily basis. It is almost like stalking someone, but with his or her permission. lol

So if you know of a good blog please send it my way I would love to check it out and add it to my favorites. I have updated the blogs that I read if you want to check them out. If you read my blog and you don’t see your blog on my favorites. Then it is because I don’t know about it yet. Send me the link and I will check it out, because I Love to read blogs.

Happy Blogging!!!!

SURPRISE!!!!

This time of the year is just crazy busy for us. As my friend Stephani and I say it is the end of the school year push to get everything in before school lets out. Having two kids has been a great joy to me, but right now we are juggling everything to make sure no one misses out on anything.

One event is trying to find time to have Jordan’s friend birthday party. When to have it so that, David, can be there to watch her celebrate with her friends. This time of year is also busy with David shooting the Ski-to-Sea races. This happens every year for us trying to squeeze in a party.

This year I decided to throw her a surprise birthday party. I wanted her to feel special and not like we were squeezing in a party. I had it all planned out. We would go watch Jay Z. play baseball. Read my blog below about the baseball game. Then I would make up an excuse to leave early, so that I could greet the guests. Then David would take Jordan on an errand until I called to say it was safe to come home.

I kept the party very intimate this year. I only invited three of her friends. Sorry to some of her other friend who normally come to her parties. I was limited on space this year since it was a home party.

Ken and I decorated the game room and kept it under lock and key for the party. When each guest arrived I had her hide their sleeping bags and stuff in Jordan’s room. Then they would hide in the game room. When Jordan came home I had David go into the game room to get pictures of Jordan’s face when she walked in the room. The one thing I didn’t remember was to hide their shoes. (DAMNITOL) Jordan comes in the house and said mom whose shoes are these? They look like Tala’s. I think I told her they were her cousin’s, Hilary, who had came over for a visit. UGH!!! lol She still didn’t expect a thing. We got into position and I had Jordan go back in the room. She opened the door and everyone yelled SURPRISE!!!! Then sprayed her with silly string. David took pictures like crazy. Then he said OPPS!!!! He had no flash card in the camera. lol What use is having a professional photographer in your house and this happens. Oh well there was still some silly string left in the cans. David popped a card in the camera and shouted to the girls to spray her again. lol

Get her!!!!
You can't get away from me!!!!

Normally when Jordan has a sleep over I try to get them into bed and 10ish. But this party didn’t even start until 8pm. I just let them play outside until the sun went down and the mosquitoes came out. Then they came in and opened up presents, had some cake, then headed back to the game room to be giggling girls. Finally at 1:30am I told them it was lights out. That they could still talk, but I was hoping the lights out would trigger some sleepiness. Jordan said they talked for a while then fell asleep.

Best Friends

They are eating a cracker. The first one to whistle wins. I think Tala (black tank) won.

Make Wish. Normally I put strawberries all over the cake. But one of the girls didn't like strawberries.
I thought for sure they would sleep in…….well I was fooling myself. lol They got up about 8:30am. They stayed in the game room until I made breakfast, French toast with either syrup, whip cream and strawberries or powdered sugar. Then they went outside to play for a while.

I think that last girl went home about 2:00pm. Jordan and I had some lunch next thing I knew she was sound asleep in the couch and has been that way for two hours now.

It was a very successful party. She said she had a great time and was very surprised.

Take me out to the ball game.

Major league memeber in training.

For the last couple of years our great friends Stephani and Eric invite us to watch their son Jay play baseball. I love their kid’s like they were my own kids. I call Jay my “little man”. I know some day I will have to look up at him and say it, but he will always be my “little man”.

(I think I told this story in a previous blog, but your going to read it again.) lol
For those of you that don’t know I have know Stephani since we were about four or five. Our parents went to the same church and our dad’s where volunteers on the Custer Fire Department district # 13. Anyway we used to play together as little girls. Then life took us in different directions until our girls were in their last year in preschool. I still remember and cherish that day. I was standing in the classroom when Stephani and Summer walked in the room. I looked and Steph and said Stephani is that you? The rest is history. Our girls have been best buddies since then.

Well Stephani’s husband Erich used to have his own photography business and he owned his set of studio lights. Well one time David borrowed them to use and they seemed to have taken up permanent residence at our house. They have gone back home on occasion or two, but still end up at our house. Erich has been kind enough to allow David to keep using the lights as needed. As payment David tries to get photos for them at their kid’s events. One of those events has always been one of Jay’s baseball games. We chose to attend this last Friday’s game. We could not have asked for better weather. It was beautiful and warm.

David and Erich switched off taking pictures while Stephani and I cheered for Jay. I wasn’t able to stay for the whole game, but still got to enjoy some good conversation and a good game and another wonderful memory with our great friends.

Keep your eye on the ball.

WAY TO GO MY “little man”!!!!

Squalicum's Senior Prom 2008

This last weekend Ken went to his senior prom. He said he had a great time. He commented that he wanted to go to another prom soon.

All these pictures were taken at Osaka's Restaurant.
Ken and his date Quyn. (Pronounced Queen)

Don't they look sweet?

My boy all dressed up. You just want to squeeze those checks.

All the boys, Wii, The. Chao, Vu and Ken.

This looks like a magazine ad or something.

The Ladies, Quyn, Nia, Geaneeve, and Hieu.

The Whole Gang!!!

After the prom the girls went home and the boys went to Vu's house and stayed up all till 4am. They watched movies and played cards.

To heal the heel!!!!!

I have several things that I want to post about, such as Ken’s Prom. David got a ton of beautiful photos. But since I am on my lunch break at work and don’t have access to those photos I will do a little post just because I haven’t posted in a while.

It has been six weeks since I have injured my Achilles tendon. My Dr. told me to stay off of it for three weeks and ice it. I have been doing all of it. David has told me I need to have physical therapy on it. My Dr had told me to come back if I hadn’t healed. I procrastinated hoping it would heal on its own. Not so much!!!!

I can move around ok without any pain. If I sit for a long period of time when I get up I have some pain in that area, but after a couple of steps it is fine. When I try to run or do any sort of workouts it hurts so much I have to stop. It is really frustrating because before the injury I was working our four-five times a week and it had become a habit. David finally made me make an appointment to see the Dr.

I went in this am to see her. She said yes I would need physical therapy, but first they need to rule out a tear. If I do in fact have a tear there will be a lot to do before I would go any PT. My appointment is next Monday at 5pm.

Goofy's Race and a Half Challenge

On that note I need to heal. I just got the information about my marathon yesterday and it really put a fire under me to heal…….my heel. lol I found out that the run is thru Walt Disney World. We run thru all the parks. Here is a link to see everything that is going on the weekend of the race. You can find the map on the right side of the page. http://disneyworldsports.disney.go.com/dwws/en_US/marathon/events/detail?name=MarathonWeekendInfoDetailPage

I really want to do this run. I have printed out the map and put it all over my house as motivators to remind me of my goal. Pray for me and wish me luck. I will let you know the results of my MRI.

I will get the pictures of Ken’s prom posted very very soon.
