This picture was taken before her illness and before the puffiness of taking steroids kicked in. <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-ONBAtfDZ3L6ybjCoG7_fDs-e4RfsLBiGoQSpb_doAzOsdu5NuvKeuSIpPD_WBLfDk2OEkB_BZx3cENwhhU47gWwOo7Qa8XC8h1XuAVJf9MxQeq7aRKsJotZR2P1K-15EvBvdKPKhI4A/s320/Jordan.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5249653309545804898" />

Sorry I know I said I would update when I had word on Jordan’s condition. But this weekend I was emotional and physically exhausted.

During her entire illness Jordan kept complaining about her stomach and how it hurt. But we all concentrated on her lungs and breathing, since that seemed the most critical at the time.

Come Monday morning she seemed to be doing much better in the breathing department and got discharged from the hospital. But her demeanor had changed. She was running a low-grade fever and just not her chipper self. Those who visited her over the weekend could say she didn’t seem sick until right before she needed a breathing treatment. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday she looked really pale and tired. She slept a lot. Which is normal when your ill, but things just didn’t seem right. Call it a mother’s instinct.

I called her primary care provider to have her seen. With the low grade fever and her stomach was really painful. At first the Dr. thought it was the steroids that she was on for the lung issue. After consulting with her asthma and allergist they both decided to take her off of it. Then the Dr. decided to get a CT of her abdomen. They got her an appointment for first thing the next morning.

I have to say I was really scared that night and the next morning. I was up at 5:00am cause I couldn’t sleep. I just cried and cried needing to get rid of the anxiety before Jordan woke up. I needed to be brave for her. I must say I have the best husband in the world. He held me and comforted me during my many breakdowns. Along with Michelle, Stephani and Anita who got several phone calls from me crying. Thanks for being great friends when I needed it the most.

What had my anxiety on over drive was Jordan has been complaining of a sore stomach over the last couple of years. She has a sensitive stomach to certain foods. We have narrowed it down to some, but there are still others that we cannot figure out. Then to add fuel to the fire my mom had a type of lymphoma that started out in the lymph nodes in her abdomen. Plus the lack of sleep since Jordan had been ill didn’t help either.

The CT was ordered with contrast. The night before she had to drink one 16 oz bottle of contrast. Contrast is this milk like fluid that tastes of chalkiness with a mild hint of a fermented fruit. I know sounds yummy. The bottle the night before is so that it gets into her large intestines. Then an hour before the procedure she needed to drink one more bottle to get it into her small intestines. It helps things show up better during the scan.

The scan it self only took about 3 mins altogether. It was starting the IV before hand that took a while. She could not eat or drink 4 hours before the procedure. So we could not pump her veins up with fluid. Of course they had a hard time finding a vein. They stuck one arm and moved the needle around and couldn’t find anything. Then they stuck the other arm and moved the needle around and finally got it. I was so proud of Jordan she laid perfectly still and kept saying “It hurts it hurts” But she didn’t shed a tear. She was so brave through out the whole process.

We headed to get some breakfast and run a couple of errands to kill time before out next Dr. appt. After breakfast and a quick trip into Costco Jordan got really tried and wanted to stay in the car while David finished up his errands. While at Fred Meyers Jordan and I both fell asleep in the car. David got what he needed in Fred’s and got his hair cut. Then we headed to the asthma Dr’s. They did a breathing test, which still looked good. Said to continue what we had been doing. She then checked to see that there where still no results from the CT. We left with a promise she would watch for the results.

Jordan did however fall asleep on the exam table, then again in the car on the way home. Normally when she falls asleep in the car she will wake up and stay awake after we get home. No she went straight to her bed and didn’t even crawl up to the pillow. She lay at the end of her bed and slept for three hours. I even had to take off her shoes. The whole morning had exhausted her.

Every time the phone rang I would jump trying to think the best but sometimes your brain takes over. Finally at 5pm I called the Dr and left a massage to call me if there where results. She finally called me back at 6:00pm. She said that Jordan had some lymph node in her abdomen that where inflamed. Of course hearing this my heart started to race. I was waiting for the cancer bomb to drop. She said with all the problems Jordan had she thought it was something called Adenovirus. I asked her a couple of times do you think it is cancer. She said she could not diagnose her because she is not a PCP. But she was certain it was not cancer. Her blood work would have shown some problems too. (big sigh relief)

She did say they found something else. Jordan might have what is called Polycystic Kidney Disease. This is a disease where cysts upon cysts grow on your kidneys. It is a hereditary disease. Since I have it there is a possibility that Jordan might too. She has a small cluster of cysts on her right kidney the biggest one being 7mm. It was a little disappointing to here that she might have it. Here PCP won’t officially diagnose it until she either starts having symptoms or when after she turns 15 we will do an ultrasound of her kidneys to see if anymore have grown.

With PKD most people aren’t diagnosed until they are well into adulthood. I was diagnosed at 30 and that was young. It was also a fluke diagnoses. I went in for an ultrasound of something else and came out with PKD. My kidneys are doing ok. They are rather huge, but that is normal for my diagnoses. The average kidney is about 10cm. My left kidney is 20cm and my right is 17 cm. But I still have full function of both of them. After this last visit I now have some physical restrictions. No marathon running and no more soccer. I can still ride my bike, swim and run short distances. But I am getting off on a whole other blog.

At her last Dr’s appointment her blood pressure was 133/82. Which is on the high side for an adult. But the Dr wasn’t too worried about it because she had been sick and on a lot of meds. We are going back at the end of October for another blood draw, a urinalysis and a check up to recheck her blood pressure. One of the systems is a high BP. She also wants to have a baseline for kidney function. We will take if from there. I will keep you all updated at that time

Jordan is getting better. After three days in the hospital and missing a week of school she is back to a normal schedule. She has been putting in full days at school and going to gymnastics practice. She is coming home and doing daily homework and then catch up homework. Both Monday and Tuesday night she was doing homework until her 9:00 bedtime. She is very tired by the end of the day, but is a fighter. Both David and I are very proud of her.

Thank you to everyone that sent me emails and messages with your prayers and concerns. It was nice to know we had you out there praying.Michellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10675479388549646490noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6032850196754369598.post-8233881101287105512008-09-13T12:20:00.001-07:002008-09-17T04:55:06.956-07:00Life can be messy..............I know it has been a while since I have updated. I have tried several times to put in an update. This past Saturday I was working on a massive blog, hence the picture of the Canadian flag picture by itself. But life keeps getting in the way of the blog.
This is at the boarder crossing.<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiH9ROJTwNydrMLBoTmT9Xy7yBC_XN-Eo2gCkjBYY4Qunh2ADO9kvio7I41627P22ETgbbd0nFFCm8HIOFUhVRydaRCzbLsKWQogs5-oU9QdNgMg3hyXC7Prik3jkb-O-EYNybyJ6-oIhI/s320/Mustang+Golf+Tourny_002.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5245588079713407602" />

A thing I was going to blog about was my company’s annual golf tournament, up in Canada, that I won an MP3 player for hitting the longest drive for women. Which is cool since that was the second time in my life I had played a game of golf.

Dave lost a ball at just about every hole. lol It was not a good golf game for him that day. But we had a blast. <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXHyM6tsJWXtcU4eS47BElsmVwh0riQRNx3LpU6bxnxS4A8p2yHJdBoLncF9ebjLRrwF1r_mtsgSZTgmd8GYGsGOVF2LniyEEhNg7tMjNbg3iEvLIsw7Am1TJPRGdIIFQ-aKKVFVmPxWw/s320/Dave+Mustang+Golf+Tourny_057.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5246953096179057634" />

I was thing going to tell you all about our labor day weekend how we were invited to three BBQ’s in one day and how we made an appearance to all of them.

Then it was going to be about my good friend Kristen’s birthday party.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7nfjYF6doLnK4bApT7sxjkgzBK4PdQRSuTn8iXbpBN_RPwJgl8Bu0o8II1ZXdm6UOSfdoDyLfpMkm_64lSgJLkf1uUWGPeJkKZtrPN2X6bLKEm7zHHaxUMkkQEbK6JcGgZJ43W6rAoS0/s320/Kristens+bday.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5246953685246762450" />

…….and then……..(movie buffs will get this one) I was going to tell you about the HUGE fire pit my husband built in our backyard. She was so excited yet nervous to attend. She had a wonderful 1st day of school and seems to really be finding her groove. To top it all off her best friend Summer is in all her classes, but two. They are also locker buddies. I took them to get their toes done so that they could start off school on the right foot……get it right foot…..toes. lol I know at least I make myself laugh, well and Stephani too. Because I know she is laughing.

Here she is looking all grown up and nervous.<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjhLQy8pkLgUhy5qjc4yv8GZzc6blqhKRgo-LO4LmNWrHqzdPMlKwMmaiBJnozmT_kGNF7XY4AkoCkDu8kinbAq7rrwxffDj_xk6T77Vl7mzX_XvoB89o1f2DE0sufZg8y4zerKrzWUzOU/s320/a.jpeg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5246954702429031010" />

…….and then………Speaking of finding her groove at school Jordan has joined the gymnastics/dance team. At meets they do a tumbling routine and some group dances. She really seems to enjoy it.
This is the t-shirt she will wear for competition. <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0-dMQ16W_np9sMdKqfe5lKk3ZfsZNOswgvs5E12R8QUFl1X12d_-Yqxgu8NfXQBJsqwzWTnd_E6jHvi7BdGww8iB4_92EBzXXMsQRMM4mDo3sL0oPPDMn0fD362MHVh4uXByOBwNNBd4/s320/a.jpeg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5246955022822312610" />

BUT…….there is always a but…….what stopped me from my huge massive blog was a trip to the ER with Jordan.

On Thursday she came down with your typical head cold. Nothing major or at least that is what I was hoping. Friday morning she woke me up at 4am requesting a nebulizer. A nebulizer is a way of getting asthma medication into the lungs quick. It last is a liquid that is put into a machine that dispenses a mist to breath deep into the lungs. I gave her one and started her on nebs every 6 hours for Friday. I keep her home for the day.

This is her getting a neb treatment at home.<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEguf7trG7fzY7piM1ryMeLeLebRgz7N2vhJrdjtCP9POXLfdg_liEtHZ75-qQ9gUe6vf-_z9BktZVFaGrhMh6HthRBBeKxAgHoRKZeJP3Gfw-Nj2fpBSLikxIMFtF4JEmCZY7aObLsmKRE/s320/a.jpeg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5246955740594945970" />

I got a call from David at 3:30pm telling me she was getting worse. So I made the dreaded call to her asthma, Dr. Elkeym (El-ki-m). They put her on nebs every four-six hours along with a steroid pill and an antibiotic.

I started giving her nebs every five hours thru the night. We have a facemask that I can use and I set my alarm for every five hours. She usually sleeps thru them, which is nice. Saturday we started having to do them every four hours. Then as the day worn on she started to need them sooner and sooner. When it got to every two hours and she was gasping for breath I rushed her to the ER.

In the ER they gave her another breathing treatment and watcher her for a while. She would get the treatments and appear to be fine. She would be laughing and talking acting just fine. She was one monitor and her heart rate was really high, but that is normal for someone having so many breathing treatments. The meds make you shaking and can raise your heartbeat, nothing to worry about.

The ER Dr came in and said he had a new plan and was going to send her home. But before he did he wanted Jordan to do a peak flow. This is where you take a deep breath and do a quick hard breath into a little device. This is to measure the amount of O2 a person is moving in and out. On a normal healthy day she can blow a 300. The Dr. wanted her to do at least a 200 before they would let us go. She made it up to 180. Not good enough. So the nurse went to see what the Dr wanted us to do. That was when Jordan had another attack. So they gave her another neb treatment. It had only been an hour and a half since the last one. They waited and we tried the cycle again. Blow, 180, little while later another attacked. After the 3rd time they said they were going to admit her up to the peds floor for the night.

Talk about the longest night of my life. She continued needing treatments every 1 ½ to 2 hours. Her poor little heart was racing and it really scared her. She said she felt like her heart was going to jump out of her chest. I think we got three hours sleep that night.

Even though it was a long night we did try to make the best of it. This is Jordan glowing toe. It is a monitor to check her pulse-ox and heart rate. We had fun playing with the glowing toe in the dark. <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSgQIlwT1eKhemhq_KoM0RI4am9ZugqbOl_B4_TAKY1_ZLM1Zt_rTnYUTfdvSZPqoR2hPg9wESD7-kwj6_q1HLJzITUiApFHLc0os6CYke55xeUIaPPjRu2UsfXcduIzqRRA6Y5SU4j9M/s320/a.jpeg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5246956112927291474" />

Sunday she seemed a little better, but still not out of the woods. The Dr. came in and said he wanted to keep her another night. So we got settled into our stay at the hospital.

This was taken on Sunday during our many wheelchair trips around the floor. This was before the fever hit. <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgACJqBsExZaNihXTWfymLXag_GJYNNyGBXimoVyJjruGzPpHT3bHB5lX1OvljBKOxEboHjX6bz5O2CdY67AqYOH0RVnwxB8HYHNtGxg1aefyMd58FjCpjZDC9skyPve76UHZHkWH_OTyk/s320/a.jpeg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5246956692207961026" />

Jordan had a large room that if needed could take 3 patients. Since she was the only yes the only pediatric patient at the time there was no fear of her getting a roommate. So we took over the whole room. She got several visitors that day. Which we really appreciated having the company.

One of our visitors was the Zerbst family. This was a site and thank goodness we had a large room. If you had come by this is what you would have seen. David in Jordan’s bed and Erich in the parent bed next to him and they where watching the Seahawks game. Jay was over on the other parent bed in the room playing a video game. Our little Lily was on the floor playing. Stephani, Summer, Jordan and myself where sitting in the middle of the room playing Apples to Apples Jr. I think Jordan kicked up.

The Zerbst family left leaving Summer behind to stay with Jordan for a while. David left for his soccer game and since Summer was there to entertain Jordan I took a much needed nap. Thank you very much Summer and Stephani for that one thing. After an hour nap I felt a new women.

Then I got a call from David, which this was a surprise because I new he game shouldn’t have been over. He called to say he was going to the ER. Yes you read that correct the ER. He thought he might had broken his collarbone. UGH!!!! When it rains it pours.

I called some family in to sit with Jordan so that I could be with David in the ER. Thanks to Anita, Galen, Hilary and Justin. Also thanks to Steve who alos stayed with Jordan. Of course the ER was crazy busy. The allowed us to wait in Jordan’s room until it was David’s turn to be seen. It turned out to be just a rotator cuff tear. At the time we didn’t know if he would need surgery, but it seems to be healing nicely and he shouldn’t need surgery.

Monday Jordan woke up feeling terrible. Her breathing was doing much better but the virus she had was hitting her body hard. She was running a low grade fever of 99.6 enough to make her body hurt. She was a different girl from the day before. But since her breathing was good the Dr gave us the choice to stay in one more night or be discharged. We discussed it and since I had the equipment at home to care for her we decided to go home.

Tuesday was a tough day. She felt terrible and was very demanding. She kept saying sorry for keeping me so busy, but she didn’t know what she wanted because she felt so bad.

We had a follow-up visit with the asthma and allergist. Where they did a lung function test. Believe it or not she tested better then she had ever test. But that is what the steroids will do for you. It was a good sign. But she was still feeling awful, so the Dr got some blood drawn. I got a call with the results late last night. Everything looks good except for her potassium. It is on the high side. This can be caused by a number of factors, but they want to do another blood draw later today to make sure it is not continuing to rise. Please pray that it stays the same or has gone down.

I will update as soon as I know anything.Michellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10675479388549646490noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6032850196754369598.post-7670954286283152672008-08-19T07:55:00.000-07:002008-08-19T08:52:55.159-07:00The Fair + The Sun + The water slides = a whole lot of fun.We woke up bright and early Saturday morning and headed to the Northwest Washington Fair. Every year we say we won't go the next year, but the last couple of years The Bellingham Herald hires David to shoot the photo's for next year's fair flier. This year wasn't any different. We let Jordan and her friend Tala roam around alone. They had a blast. This is the first year I let her do it. I think she loved the independence.

The other Dave and Michelle joined us, along with another good friend Kristen and her son Tygan. It was a very very hot and humid day. I felt sorry for Kristen who is almost eight months pregnant. We wondered around the fair looking and eating. We all agreed the cow barn was the best, but only because they had a ton of fans going and it was the coolest place there. lol

About 2:00pm Dave and Michelle headed home and Kristen headed to a baby shower for her cousin. I kept Tygan so that he could go on some more rides. What 10-year-old boy wants to go to a baby shower? David left at 2:45pm to head down to Seattle to see the Seahawks game. The girls and I stayed until about 6:30pm. We where exhausted after being there for 9 hours.

Tala, Tygan and Jordan waiting for rides to open at the fair.<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYelcL3CB3UVqvO1FggyUUvL57h1AZWPJKu0M1KqTFStKRWPqsd5YQSxcyG50EPLEmlLfy1Bgk5nso-WcWJeBNC73W6t9nrZWNYO8fdhnhKwbEok42CjrcFFd9QJtBjcyGLU28N_bvVWs/s320/Fair.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5236245893907632674" />

Jordan and Tala after a day at the fair. So once again it was Jordan, Tala, David and I. We woke up to rain, but it cleared up a little bit. Even with the clouds it was very warm and muggy. We went out anyway. Only in Washington do we consider going to the water slides in the rain. It never really rained while we where there. They did close the water down for about 15 mins while a thunder and lighting storm passed. Then everything was open and back to normal. We left at 6:00pm when the slides closed for the day. Just was we got in our car and headed down the road it started to rain like crazy. I guess someone up above was watching out for us.

Jordan jumping into the big pool chasing after Tala at the water slides. <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHPldM05ARwy2gw1-eyU-LU7FyFscWd4u94NE1eNgEJ9oo05BWFTS2oZPhNlRDuTPOBm8MvYO_enQQcWXu-_AG8h7VXZgDAfRk5Lrda9ULp0lhS1kCq-N60Ab6YJISP6So2olQHB2LATc/s320/Slides+Jordan.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5236245901055495554" />

Tala getting the heck out of there before Jordan could get her. <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTV5Arl6vjweuJJ8km1IETxGyJ2xyilAMhg6kVzwju3eoQpnetNe-p29WweZa_xc3-MkGJfHR6e99SS13441pXZylfxKVrYEdb5YureFhk40b_QgzDaQvd0Rw_dKqbjKP1t-kwxOQ2gvU/s320/Slides+Tala.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5236245905187681138" />

This is me in all my glory of no make-up. A big blessing no drama, I like that the best.Michellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10675479388549646490noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6032850196754369598.post-81123866950155593222008-08-14T11:08:00.000-07:002008-08-14T11:26:51.577-07:00Little bit of drama.......I know it has been a long time since I have posted. It has been a long drama filled summer. Between my car accident and some other personal things I have been on the mend physical and mentally. I would like to say thank you to the best friends I have ever had. My neighbor, Michelle who was there for me and held me when I felt my world was falling apart. My email buddy Stephani who had listened or more like read about all my problems and sending me lots of prayers, encouragement and advice. Anita, my cousin, who has reminded me that I still have a family. Thank you to all of you for being there for me. All the hugs and encouragement you all gave me has meant the world to me. Just to know that I am not alone is a big help.

Now on to happier times:

Last week I dropped Jordan off at summer camp. For the last few years she has been going to Camp Indianola. It is a church camp that I grew up going too out on the Kitsap Peninsula. We drove down on Saturday Aug 2nd to North Seattle then car pooled over with our good friend Pastor-Michele. She is the minister that married David and I. She is also a good friend. Her oldest daughter Katie was also attending the camp. We ended up waiting in the ferry line for a little over two hours. It didn’t seem too long because it had been a while since Michele and I had talked, so we spent the time getting caught up on life. It was nice being just the two of us after we dropped the girls off at camp. I got in a little retail……I mean pastoral therapy when we were together.

David and I had a good week being alone. My BFF and neighbor, Michelle, reminded me that it has been a long long time since we had that amount of alone time together. The last couple of years my in-laws have been at my house all summer. Due to gas prices this year they didn’t make it. We miss them very much, but I was appreciative of the time alone. Our first night I went and cheered David on at his soccer game, and then we got a bite of dinner after the game. On Tuesday night we went on a nice bike ride along the water and had a picnic dinner at Boulevard Park. Wednesday night we kind of did our own thing. He played on his game and I just became a couch potato for the evening. Thursday night we watched a movie together at home. Then our last night alone we went out on another date. We say the movie Dark Knight. It was EXCELLENT a must see.

The Saturday morning we were up bright and early. We had to be over to the camp by 11am to see Jordan performance. This year’s camp was a drama camp. They performed the play Godspell Jr. I will post pictures of them this evening. I am on my lunch break at work right now so no access to the photos. The directors did a great job making sure all the kids that wanted solo’s got one. Jordan had a solo and trio part. I of course was very proud of her. She did a great job in the whole play. This summer she a grown up a lot. She is getting so mature.

Last night was David’s 38 Birthday. Sorry about the bad picture. I have this brand new beautiful camera that I got for mother’s day and my birthday and I forgot it at home. Yes I know with David’s thousands of dollars worth of professional gear and my new point and shoot neither one of us had a camera. I did however get this bad picture of David with the camera on my cell phone while the waiters sang happy birthday to him. We went out the Chihuahuas, in Ferndale, for dinner. It was a good time with great food and friends.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglJj7SF6TECpImAq_DPeIFVp7-PYDyO4I5fk2CgvzMBqw1134mGO06w_yUvtCRSTtBwFFECvTVGpKS-Zb8_e9G6geipC84Eo7zmlQ7rXVaDpB4Ck4koGbVT7wAtT1oR9Fwsnvh84LaGQM/s320/b-day.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5234438172757854994" /> This is a face only a mother could love......well maybe his wife too. lol He is such a goof but I love him with all my heart. Happy Birthday David thanks for being such a wonderful, husband and father. We are very blessed to have you.Michellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10675479388549646490noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6032850196754369598.post-56385261561582897352008-07-16T06:25:00.000-07:002008-07-16T06:41:31.600-07:00When in doubt...............Turn to the Bible. These are verses from a book of Bible verses for busy women. I am having some troubles that I can't explain at this time. A good friend told me to turn to the Lord and not let Satan into my heart. I am being tested and it not going to work. Thanks SZ

Lord, I cry out to you. I say, You are my protection. You are all I want in this life. Listen to my cry because I am helpless. Save me from those who are chasing me, because they are too strong for me. Free me from my prison and then I will praise your name. The good people will surround me, because you have taken care of me. Psalms 142

The Lord will work out his plans for my life for your faithful love, O Lord, endurers forever. Don't abandon me, for you made me. Psalm 138:8

I am in pain and distress: my your salvation O God, protect me. Psalm 69:29

Also Thank you MS for being there last night when I needed a friend.Michellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10675479388549646490noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6032850196754369598.post-89044039212070751202008-07-09T08:24:00.000-07:002008-07-09T09:24:09.069-07:00Fifty-sixFifty-six that is the number of mosquito bites my daughter has on her body, 22 on just one arm alone. Next question your thinking is how can she let herself get bitten so much? If you read my last blog you will remember that our family bought new bikes last week and on Sunday we went for a nice ride. We didn’t get home until after 9pm.

Here is the story………

On the weekends in the am when our dogs want to go outside we often get up open the sliding glass door in our room and leave it open. This way we can get back into bed and snooze for a bit more and not have to get up again when they want back inside. Well……..we forgot to shut the door before we left for the day.

As you may guess by now leaving the door open all day a house might have a few bugs in it by 9:00pm. Lets just say there was well more then a few. It was just NUTS!!!! It was a mosquito family reunion in our house that night. David and I spent a long time trying to kill as many as we could. We just couldn’t get them all. I slept with a pillow on my head because I got tired of hearing the drive-bys in my ear. You know those times your just about get to sleep and you hear the buzz of a mosquito fly by your ear. UGH!!!!!

Before we went to bed we all put a ton of Off on our bodies. David and I didn’t get one bite, but our poor little girl was a buffet for those little buggers. They even bit thru her clothes because she has four huge ones on her butt.

This is just a small sample of some of them on her arm. These are the small compared to some of them. <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhV90yichseJMJhCiAW20HhC2lGSvFJKi-hXboIrWLB2MfYfAHqvFS8kMy-XeCbmKeay4sYF_l-c8WazJWo3irXlbxsNpjFNRu53GiL73Bg4sI5fqv1s4Frzd1eBoBC1r-ziYjrejDOxMM/s320/bites.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5221049905842737986" />

Monday night wasn’t too itchy and she had no problems, but last night (Tuesday) she was miserable. I did everything possible to help the urge to itch. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

On a side note Jordan and I have been riding like crazy. I have ridden my bike to work every day this week. Then we have been doing all our errands on our bikes. I just drive to my Dad’s house and park my truck and we off go from there. On Monday night my friend Sara and I took a beautiful ride. We figure we rode at least 10 miles that day. If I continue by the end of the summer my legs should look awesome. I tell you it has been great therapy for my boggled little brain. Nothing like some good sweat therapy.

Another side note about the car accident, Jordan and I are both getting better. We both got some message therapy last night. And felt really good after we were done. I will keep you posted as we go along. Thanks to everyone’s prayers and kind messages we really enjoy them and it is nice to know we have friends and family that care.Michellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10675479388549646490noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6032850196754369598.post-9411650944945597892008-07-07T08:08:00.000-07:002008-07-07T08:57:29.116-07:00Good Times!!!!Yes you are seeing correctly I am blogging AGAIN and it has only been two days since my last blog. lol I am going to really try my best to blog on a regular basis.

Sorry to say there will not be any photo's for this post. I know a photographer's wife with no photo's. Kind of like the shoe makers kids running around with no shoes. But when you have photo equipment weights more the a small child it is the last thing you want to take with you.

Anyway on to our weekend.

4th was spent with family. After I got off work, yes I had to work it is a Canadian company after all, we headed out to my cousin Anita's house. It has been our tradition every year since Jordan was just a month old to go to Anita and Galen's house. It is a tradition I love. Well I love traditions period. I personally think it makes for special memories. I really don't like to faultier much from a tradition. But what I love about any holiday is I am with my family that means more to me then anything. The biggest reason why I keep traditions is my daughter, Jordan. She is big on it. If we have been doing it one way since she can remember she wants to keep it that way. If I tell her that something is going to be different or if someone who is normally there is not going to be is gets very disappointed.

Last year was a little bit of a disappointment for her. Our tradition changed a little bit. We still went to Anita's, but we didn't do any fire works as usual. Anita's and Galen had just moved into their beautiful dream home and they had neighbors. So we didn't want to be responsible for burning down anybodies house. So we had a BBQ, visited and then left. Jordan was a little bored. There is a big age difference between all the cousins and Jordan is the baby. We then went over and watched the Bellingham fireworks show with the Zerbst's Family, our good friends. We sat in the middle of the road.....yes the middle and watched the show. It was perfect and fun. That part wasn't a disappointment Jordan got to be with her best friend. But she didn't get to let of any fireworks herself.

This year we went over to Anita's for the traditional BBQ. Let off day time fire works. Then around sunset we headed over to Galen's brothers house for our nighttime fireworks. Gordy, Galen's brother bought a house this year that has the property and no close neighbor's so we could do our traditional show. Jordan had a blast. As I sat and watched the show I could hear her belly laughing down with all the big boys as they did the show. She told our friend, Sara, that this was the first time they let her light off the BIG fireworks. It was good to see the grin on her face. On the way home she said this was WAY better then last year. The only thing she missed was having her grandpa there to watch her set them off and also seeing her buddy Summer.

On Saturday we chilled out in the am, then did a little house cleaning in the afternoon. Then invited ourselves over to watch a movie at the other Dave and Michelle's house, our neighbors. It was a nice ending to a good day. It is so nice to have good friends and neighbors that you can text and say hey we are coming down to watch a movie at your house and them not thinking twice about it.....Thanks D & M.

On Sunday we slept in then got up and headed out to go bike riding on our brand new bikes. If you are the least bit interested here is the link to what mine and Jordan's bike looks like. http://www.trekbikes.com/us/en/bikes/2008/mountain_hardtail/3_series/3700wsd/ She and I got the 3700 just in different colors and sizes. David got the 3900.

Our ride started out in Fairhaven on the Inner Urban Trail. We did good on the flat parts, but found out that on the down hills and up hills Jordan just wasn't ready skill wise. She was too nervous going to fast downhill and doesn't know how to gear down to go up hill. So after a 3 mile ride we rode back to the truck put the bikes in the back. Then drove over to my dad's and rode around his neighborhood. Our first stop was at the Zerbst's were we visited and had appetizers. Then we headed over to Jordan's girl scout leaders house to say hi and show them our bikes. Since Mary Beth lived on the same street as our good friend Sara we headed over for a visit. Where she was having an unplanned BBQ. Other friends of Sara's had stopped by right before we did, so Sara threw some burgers and dogs on the grill. It was fun. We made plans with Sara for a bike ride on Tuesday.

All in all it was a good weekend. It is now Monday I have the day off since I worked the 4th. I am going to do a little pick up on my house then get ready for my re-do at the spa. I am getting a free mani, pedi and message today. I will explain later on a whole other blog. If I have time I just might tell you all about it tonight.Michellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10675479388549646490noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6032850196754369598.post-19574158675102387712008-07-04T14:55:00.001-07:002008-07-04T15:26:48.160-07:00Finally an update.......beware it is long. Finally a new bog from me, this one should be a long one have a lot of catch up. May I quote my good buddy Stephanie this will be a monster blog.

The last month has been a very very busy and stressful month and I have just not had the energy to sit down and blog. Not that I haven’t had stuff running thru my head on what I want to blog about.

It has been since May 19th since I blogged, so here goes nothing lets hope I don’t forget something here goes nothing or here goes a lot………..

Memorial day weekend we had our Annual pre Ski-to-Sea BBQ. This originally started out as a BBQ for all the photographers that shoot the race for John Brunk Photography. Over the years it has grown into a come one come all event. Anyone and everyone are invited to next years. You don’t have to be a part of the photo team to be a part of the party. It was a great event. I got to chat with a lot of friends and just laugh and have a good time. Oh and eat lots and lots of good food.

One of the highlights of the day was I got to meet the other Michelle Marie Willoughby. I must say that she is AWESOME!!! And not just because of her name. She is just great. We really hit it off. As we got to know each other that evening we found out that we have a lot in common and we even have a few mutual friends so we are really surprised that no one has introduced us before. Her husband fit right in with everyone and the kids seemed to have a great time. Our two daughters loved playing together. Unfortunately we both have been very busy that we haven’t been able to get together again. There is no doubt in my mind we will get together again and continue to become great friends.

Michelle X 2<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjM-FFn0yhEgjn5xxAlVn_dvEYySL-vrGWAe2QKCUKAz99UqyuVGhraGydeb9VW4RYZU1NsPZjCXagihuRk79wGS_AXZJSRO8No1WAlgUPNwBfCT4sZgj5l2SXcE2AXswXC1i00PGXWNzo/s320/Michelle+x+2.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5219281741268967058" />

The next week was Jordan’s official 11th birthday. After almost 24 hours of labor she was born on June 2nd, 1997 at 9:51am. Little labor story for you…… When I reached full dilation I just wasn’t ready to push it had been a long hard night and I was really tired. Since my body wasn’t telling me to push the nurse decided to let me rest a little long, because the mom next door was also at full dilation and was starting to push. Since we had the same Dr the nurse thought she would let the other mom get ahead of me so that the Dr could have time to take care of us. WELL……..30 minutes later I was ready to push. I ended up pushing for two hours and the other mom pushed for 2 and a half hours. Calculate that and see that the babies were ready to come out at the same time. As Jordan was crowning our Dr was next door delivering a healthy baby boy. The nurse asked me to stop pushing for a little bit so the Dr had time to finish up with the mom next door. That was like telling me to hold my breath for an hour……NOT going to happen my friend. I had a few choice words…..”GET THAT DAMN DR IN HERE. To try and make a long story short the two babies where 7 minutes apart. Later that afternoon I went next door to meet the other mom and her son. Sorry to say I didn’t get a picture of the two babies. Not only were these two little miracles born on the say day and only minutes apart they are both named Jordan. lol So somewhere out there is a boy Jordan, born on June 2, 1997. If you happen to know him please let us know we would love to meet them again and this time get some pictures.

Jordan a week old<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6aRFEug3OMO7ALSnC3r6rx-85eIZBIi3PBiEu4sUuvYl0wmisBFcJHaaMgSt-BvVcvcNPzdgjbBisJb3waaoIDqenU07iMAUrqXyK9vTxgUf40LeZzhbxyeQ_x0hoPK4QVoG7eqnlLp4/s320/Baby+Jordan.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5219282137470247474" />

Jordan at six months <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHNFBSskCX8XOI6t3TBTO8yQ8YUvVOopGmiw2SJRQmH1J30p0XqLNsw6tmCJqLtDjOsQ3-fpYX1yiuYlkf3AEQNt5Xfe38egQjMBrX35a59UsjOOZf8c-JpIdrpfz04yLl0Z6Ef0ZicO8/s320/Sunflower+Jordan.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5219282136990723618" />

My baby girl is growing into a beautiful young woman. I am very proud to be her mother. Jordan my little Muppet I love you more then you will ever understand until you become a mother yourself. Thank you for being you.

The day after Jordan’s birthday we got the pleasure of having Ken’s Dad Tan come and visit. Tan is pronounced as Ton. It was a nice visit with him. I felt bad that he was stuck at home most of the time while he was here. We were all at work or school. Then we were so busy with graduation stuff that we really didn’t get much of a chance to show him around Bellingham.

On June 7th was graduation day for Ken. Since it was inside we only had six tickets to get into the event. Of course Tan, David and I went along with the other Dave and Michelle. It was a good ceremony and fun to watch. During the ceremony Ken and I kept texting each to other on our cell phones. I could not see him from where we sat.

Getting his diploma. <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg87dZa9CCu2_9s3jO7W96KpQZOkMC-lx5RzeKZh1XTz5d3u3kscW4h8foESEZwb5a4ILrFK07J-bzNDBYPzCMB3abK1aAEpZ_jll4FM4_l-bK_WPMoelt__WBV92J3FuytFldnTBMVtTU/s320/a.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5219287188588961874" />

After the graduation we all went out for a celebration lunch. Yes it was an all nighter. Since the class has been freshmen the parents have been doing fundraisers to save up the money for this party. After it was all said and done the whole thing costs about $35,000.00. No I did not add an extra 0 by mistake. They had three travel buses that took all the kids down to Seattle. Where they spent from 10am to 2am at Game Works. Just picture a huge arcade where they got to play what ever they wanted for free. They also had a buffet for the kids to munch on while they played. They also had a cartoonist there that did pictures of the kids if they wanted. After that we all hoped into the buses and headed to a nightclub. Where the kids got to dance. In one area they had a few black jack tables and also a henna tattoo artist. The last hour of the night they had a hypnotist. Which was really funny to watch. All the kids had a blast and they all crashed on the ride home. It was a long, but fun night.

On June 11th was the last meeting of the year for Girl Scouts. They had a nice ice cream party. The girls got the last of their badges they earned then they bridged up to cadets. Which means a new uniform. They are tan. Jordan and five other girls also got pined with their bronze awards. See below on her project.

Jordan walking over the "bridge" to becoming a cadet. I was happy to see all of Ken’s friends. It was fun to watch them interact, laughing and having fun with each other. We all got together on the deck to each say a little something about our time with Ken. Michelle and I could not keep the tears from flowing. Neither of us could get too many words out because it was very emotional for us. We all had gotten attached to him.

On June 18th our boy left us to go home to his family in Vietnam. It was a tough night for all of us. We spent time at the airport until the last possible moment that he had to go thru security. Michelle and I had tears flowing as we watched him go thru security. We watch as he walked past us heading to the holding area before he got on the plane. His little face was so sad as he walked by the window. Of course more tears from the two Michelle’s. When we could no longer see him we headed back to our car. As we walked out of the airport the emotion of him leaving hit Jordan and she started to cry. She cried all the way home. Once we got home she was ok. That is until bedtime. Then it hit her again that he was gone. She started to cry again. It gave her great comfort that he was in the next room. She ended up sleeping in his room that night and every night since he left.

He grew into a son and a big brother while he was here with us. He will always be a part of the Willoughby family. I am very proud of him and all that he accomplished when he was here. We love you and miss you very much Do Dang Khoa…….AKA Ken.

The official decision has not been made it yet but it appears that our boy might be back in Washington again next year for college. He has friends that live down in Auburn and going to school there. Ken might live with them and go to school down there. That just means he will be close to his American family. We really hope it works out that way. Then we can see our boy on a regular basis. Here is hoping……..

After all that emotion our week was not over. It was also the week of Jordan’s big project for her bronze award. This is the highest honor you can earn as a Jr. Girl Scout. The girls can either do it together or alone. It must be something that helps the community in some way. The project requires 16 hours of work. Half of the time is spent preparing for the project and the other half is spent doing the project. Jordan chose to do a blood drive. The Bellingham Puget Sound Blood Center chose for her to do an in-clinic blood drive. They dedicated a week to her project. It was June 17th- 21st. On Saturday the 21st she spent eight hours at the clinic being the juice and cookie girl. I was really impressed and proud of her. I thought for sure after a while she would get bored with being there so long. But she had a blast doing it all. Getting the juice and keeping the cookies stocked. They average 25 people on a Saturdays. That Saturday they had 38 people donate. Her goal for the whole week was to get anywhere from 25 to 50 people to donate. I think we got 30 people and that doesn’t count our friends and family from out of state that said they would donate in their hometown. Thank you to all our friends and family that took the time out of their day to donate for Jordan. We appreciate it very much.

Jordan standing next to her leader Mary Beth while she donated blood. <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMi1SWNHKmk750_Z0JKzkt98Fo1pCP1yLZwdJhaSVXoh8QqOlzuGASkJlDCENB290ptsR1R-d-4HZR0HO36QZGT5A3qWLl4n7bK8bv21uDCN8YCwHvRRUjqWSH0Xuj4q4usF1gljq1CNw/s320/Blood+drive.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5219284558451867570" />

The next day Jordan and I had the pleasure of going to see Summer, Jordan’s best friend, dance in her ballet recital. The whole show was exciting, fun, cute and beautiful all rolled up into one big package. There are a ton of different performances from the itty-bitty little one’s to the older girls. Each performance was wonderful in its own way. Jordan and I both agree that Summer’s was the best of all, but we are a bit bias, She look so beautiful in her costume. We are very thankful that Stephani always includes us in this day.

Summer, Jordan and myself after the recital. <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiY0kuPrRJlh8ldinkZ2-0GlUzqyCK19ISt-UhmMPPzK40DpcLJG73h07r78DEk4uH53ucg94rqtX5wEOdLSpMblBiAz4xtwG5BSdOYCFv9kaFfz11zINEbqODhGvxY-3QjOfKK_-uJxHk/s320/Recital.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5219284818020188674" />

After the performance Jordan and I thought we would finish our Mother-daughter day with some dinner before we headed home. We stopped at Pizza hut on the south side of town and had some good pasta. Then……………………………..

One the way home I was headed down Ellis Street, by the old St. Luke’s Hospital which is now St. Joseph’s rehab building. I cannot explain why but I ran a red light. Which I am sure every driver has done one time or another in his or her driving life. Well this one time I wasn’t lucky. I hit a 1996 Jeep Cherokee. There was a young college couple in the Jeep. They were startled, but ok. They were headed to a potluck and had a crock-pot of chili on the back seat. Lets just say there was a total loss of chili. (Humors now) lol

As for us at first I was shocked, then I flipped around and looked at Jordan. Poor little thing looked just terrified. I jumped out of the car so fast that one of my flip-flops came off. I didn’t care I just wanted to get over to Jordan. We both walked out of the car. Once the cops arrived Jordan complained that her head hurt. So the paramedics were called in to check her out. After an exam they decided to put a neck brace on her and strap her down to the backboard. A little miss communication between the ER and the paramedics Jordan was called in as a major trauma and a 10-year-old boy. (Humors now) Once we arrived the whole trauma team was waiting for us. The DR assessed her and then got X-rays done. Every thing looked normal so we were released with directions to take Tylenol as needed. I think we were in and out of there in about an hour and a half. Thank the good Lord for watching out for us that day.

It has almost been two weeks since the accident. Jordan is still having back and neck troubles. She still needs muscle relaxants and Tylenol to get comfortable for sleep. We got a referral to a message therapist to see if that helps. Our first appointment is on Tuesday evening. As for me there is no trace of the small chemical burn from the air bag dust and the cut on my neck from the seat belt. I am still having psychological problems of the accident. As a mother it is a scary thing being in a car accident with your child in the car. I keep praying for peace in my mind. I keep reading my women’s devotional book the section for stressful times. It has helped a little. But I still need Valium to help me relax so that I can sleep at night. Each day I am starting to feel more like myself. Thank you to my husband for being so patient with me while I deal with my emotions. Also thank to my two good friend’s Michelle and Stephani who listen to me while I talk about it over and over again.

Not too bad could have been a lot worse.<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg94HdFSnEDtMX3APbJQKQyTRKRGfuclW2aKmrX0R226TSN1KrH7eBrEDL3Uu2C_8B1fdImWXwpJELx3SV74gjjQmVbvisQmElgDCH76VAfr2SoKcnNd34gIKwDb4je7rT3tTqTo89Pqrs/s320/car.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5219288708171757554" />

As for my car I thought for sure it was a total loss, but as you can see by the photo’s of the car there really isn’t that much damage. It is getting repaired and we should have it back by the end of July. Another Thank you to my Dad and Karla for letting us use their car. Also thank you to David’s boss, Craig for letting us use the company van, as we need it. I haven’t heard about the Jeep Cherokee and if it was a total loss yet. I hit the Driver’s side wheel and the tow truck driver was thinking the front axel was damaged. I should know sometime next week.

As for our insurance company (Safeco) they have just been wonderful thru the whole ordeal. I have two agents assigned to me. Lenny who is dealing with the accident itself, then Linda who is doing all the medical stuff. If I have a question for either one of them I shoot over and email and they get back to me within an hour. The one part I find humors was it took them four days to determine who was at fault. I could have told them the day of the accident that I take full responsibility. I ran a red light…..hello people of course it is my fault. .

Another question is will my insurance rates go up? They will take into account my previous driving record. Which is no ticket since 1991 and no accident since 1986. They will also take into account what happens between now and November when we renew with them.

That does if for now please have a happy and safe 4th of July.Michellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10675479388549646490noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6032850196754369598.post-1763577711814884622008-05-19T10:14:00.000-07:002008-05-19T10:54:41.706-07:00My blogosphere..............<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcunJ7X-ZDWku0e12uZyunTIqt89uzVanDMSmA_q9CuidJhJK0x-gAd2Joh2-erecyLuLVR6cNCEgVNf11GVdKPTjSCXMCi26z_JETPUNZC9Yl9etpCuRRimHBkiZ0Jb4a1nTUTUYHyBc/s320/4266397.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5202148796288420642" />

What are blogs? There are now millions of them and where did they all come from? I have no idea where they came from, except someone started this form of on-line journaling A.K.A Blogs. It has taken off from there. On that note………..

Just a little FYI about me, I love to read Blogs. I read several blogs a day. Some are my friends and some are from people I have never met before. I love to read them. There are some that I know don’t post but once a week, like I do. There are some I check daily because the post several times a week. I laugh along with funny ones and I cry along with the sad ones. I just love to read blogs

I can’t explain why I love to read them. I just do. I don’t know why I read ones from people I don’t even know, but I just do. How do I find the blogs of people I don’t know? Well it usually is from a link on a friend’s web site and it goes from there.

When I start reading a new blog I usually start with the most recent entry. If it catches me then I go back and read just about all the entries. How do I find the time to do this you ask? Well it is usually sitting on my couch with a laptop on hand. TV has gotten so boring lately that I need something to keep me from falling asleep. I love to surf the internet while watching TV. I start by checking all the blogs I read. Then if there are no new posts I then just see what blogs they have on their favorites.

There is a couple that I read where the author has lost their son or daughter to cancer. Sometimes those can be tough to read, but I keep reading them. I usually sit there with tears running down my face as I read them. I personally think the toughest lose is a child. No one should have to bury his or her child. I feel for each one of these women that I have never met. They have their moments or days of feeling down, but they still write about their grieving in a very public way. It is good therapy for them. Each of them are strong women. I send them my mental prayers and cyber hugs.

I of course read all my friends and family’s blogs or at least the ones that I know about. I try to comment on them every once in a while. Just so they know I read them, also because I love getting comments on my blog. I find it as a way to keep up with each other’s life on a daily basis. It is almost like stalking someone, but with his or her permission. lol

So if you know of a good blog please send it my way I would love to check it out and add it to my favorites. I have updated the blogs that I read if you want to check them out. If you read my blog and you don’t see your blog on my favorites. Then it is because I don’t know about it yet. Send me the link and I will check it out, because I Love to read blogs.

Happy Blogging!!!!Michellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10675479388549646490noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6032850196754369598.post-79507553362063238052008-05-17T18:09:00.000-07:002008-05-19T08:43:13.243-07:00SURPRISE!!!!This time of the year is just crazy busy for us. As my friend Stephani and I say it is the end of the school year push to get everything in before school lets out. Having two kids has been a great joy to me, but right now we are juggling everything to make sure no one misses out on anything.

One event is trying to find time to have Jordan’s friend birthday party. When to have it so that, David, can be there to watch her celebrate with her friends. This time of year is also busy with David shooting the Ski-to-Sea races. This happens every year for us trying to squeeze in a party.

This year I decided to throw her a surprise birthday party. I wanted her to feel special and not like we were squeezing in a party. I had it all planned out. We would go watch Jay Z. play baseball. Read my blog below about the baseball game. Then I would make up an excuse to leave early, so that I could greet the guests. Then David would take Jordan on an errand until I called to say it was safe to come home.

I kept the party very intimate this year. I only invited three of her friends. Sorry to some of her other friend who normally come to her parties. I was limited on space this year since it was a home party.

Ken and I decorated the game room and kept it under lock and key for the party. When each guest arrived I had her hide their sleeping bags and stuff in Jordan’s room. Then they would hide in the game room. When Jordan came home I had David go into the game room to get pictures of Jordan’s face when she walked in the room. The one thing I didn’t remember was to hide their shoes. (DAMNITOL) Jordan comes in the house and said mom whose shoes are these? They look like Tala’s. I think I told her they were her cousin’s, Hilary, who had came over for a visit. UGH!!! lol She still didn’t expect a thing. We got into position and I had Jordan go back in the room. She opened the door and everyone yelled SURPRISE!!!! Then sprayed her with silly string. David took pictures like crazy. Then he said OPPS!!!! He had no flash card in the camera. lol What use is having a professional photographer in your house and this happens. Oh well there was still some silly string left in the cans. David popped a card in the camera and shouted to the girls to spray her again. lol

Get her!!!!<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTFt2We36LRHqL0mleNtfpMeX8hjiNtyn2VBzK3WjwO796ccbv2wPT9N8PuDyeG3MPsUo0cFtf97x-wsQ94C3dodZ9WkD5uF3k91dw4t6Rr7BkrcocjvJ6vS8s-0WPwxF5Vjbf-h5HERU/s320/001+birthday+001.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5201522920769145554" />
You can't get away from me!!!!<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVQfW8L9GrQ9iy7TFTLiDMQGBAskQsWZMFw78ioBI11giZRS6x8YzRbqClo3h_UoiQvZsK2bi4DLFmPjnGi72wtMpiekeXXnkKTjlCO81jf0y3c9DQ33RCgXj-jOWdEzfj4FRBF_qtZKA/s320/002+birthday+002.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5201523281546398434" />

Normally when Jordan has a sleep over I try to get them into bed and 10ish. But this party didn’t even start until 8pm. I just let them play outside until the sun went down and the mosquitoes came out. Then they came in and opened up presents, had some cake, then headed back to the game room to be giggling girls. Finally at 1:30am I told them it was lights out. That they could still talk, but I was hoping the lights out would trigger some sleepiness. Jordan said they talked for a while then fell asleep.

Best Friends <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9bMy1hGZ4BD-9_mfsg9HNS7A3vU1qyXeknfPsf4gZaFHimIh5ygg84u76QtSBRCQDcKSvGjJelBTRuqRALHNl9BvrqS7iGhuQY606T4wRqSjdf8uCMP62Ux1XViT4TKLkzUyaOzq-1EY/s320/003+birthday+003.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5201523290136333042" />

They are eating a cracker. I love their kid’s like they were my own kids. I call Jay my “little man”. I know some day I will have to look up at him and say it, but he will always be my “little man”.

(I think I told this story in a previous blog, but your going to read it again.) lol
For those of you that don’t know I have know Stephani since we were about four or five. Our parents went to the same church and our dad’s where volunteers on the Custer Fire Department district # 13. Anyway we used to play together as little girls. Then life took us in different directions until our girls were in their last year in preschool. I still remember and cherish that day. I was standing in the classroom when Stephani and Summer walked in the room. I looked and Steph and said Stephani is that you? The rest is history. Our girls have been best buddies since then.

Well Stephani’s husband Erich used to have his own photography business and he owned his set of studio lights. Well one time David borrowed them to use and they seemed to have taken up permanent residence at our house. They have gone back home on occasion or two, but still end up at our house. Erich has been kind enough to allow David to keep using the lights as needed. As payment David tries to get photos for them at their kid’s events. One of those events has always been one of Jay’s baseball games. We chose to attend this last Friday’s game. We could not have asked for better weather. It was beautiful and warm.

David and Erich switched off taking pictures while Stephani and I cheered for Jay. I wasn’t able to stay for the whole game, but still got to enjoy some good conversation and a good game and another wonderful memory with our great friends.

Keep your eye on the ball. <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjR6GB7Bp9rrukBiLDJzzOgidoRgZSoBSlSBeePPkFLBsPbX7grUvoPP9BpompQwfQodW_u0Ylxs36WOAdVX1XsqpsSUK3QNqezUqrAYH1c8FgYwkI4fCxhoiX622agoqwd1UxoIY8Jzq4/s320/002+Dist+BaseB+LHS+v+Lakewood+002.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5201517891362441922" />

WAY TO GO MY “little man”!!!!Michellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10675479388549646490noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6032850196754369598.post-9498375341426820982008-05-12T10:56:00.000-07:002008-05-12T11:07:46.786-07:00Who Who Who!!!!!I read a blog today that the author, Marcy was curious on who was reading her blog. David got a ton of beautiful photos. But since I am on my lunch break at work and don’t have access to those photos I will do a little post just because I haven’t posted in a while.

It has been six weeks since I have injured my Achilles tendon. My Dr. told me to stay off of it for three weeks and ice it. I have been doing all of it. David has told me I need to have physical therapy on it. My Dr had told me to come back if I hadn’t healed. I procrastinated hoping it would heal on its own. Not so much!!!!

I can move around ok without any pain. If I sit for a long period of time when I get up I have some pain in that area, but after a couple of steps it is fine. When I try to run or do any sort of workouts it hurts so much I have to stop. It is really frustrating because before the injury I was working our four-five times a week and it had become a habit. David finally made me make an appointment to see the Dr.

I went in this am to see her. She said yes I would need physical therapy, but first they need to rule out a tear. If I do in fact have a tear there will be a lot to do before I would go any PT. My appointment is next Monday at 5pm.

Goofy's Race and a Half Challenge
On that note I need to heal. I just got the information about my marathon yesterday and it really put a fire under me to heal…….my heel. lol I found out that the run is thru Walt Disney World. We run thru all the parks. Here is a link to see everything that is going on the weekend of the race. You can find the map on the right side of the page. http://disneyworldsports.disney.go.com/dwws/en_US/marathon/events/detail?name=MarathonWeekendInfoDetailPage

I really want to do this run. I have printed out the map and put it all over my house as motivators to remind me of my goal. Pray for me and wish me luck. I will let you know the results of my MRI.

I will get the pictures of Ken’s prom posted very very soon.Michellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10675479388549646490noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6032850196754369598.post-4134372603369388502008-04-29T19:02:00.000-07:002008-04-29T19:38:03.111-07:00Ken trying to blow out his trick candles.....At the time I didn't know I bought trick candles.<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiC6HzLurSkOUSbkg-eHtdSPXuiTbde8yot1vN6jDnu6lOvxzoy35V3yn9_jzbf-7AJlZZtcKS1PVSlvg8xPCy88NyJMdQ9x7hKIXAN-B0eMsaneYyDYS-89e-WvqoKJ0Gwm-75EV93H2w/s320/image001.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5194859841989176610" />

Dang it why don't these candles blow out? lol<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiNOVesGxJ2VMHaVtqmrwTxta_IWFZbkJ1h-rfRdNOcF8kWn6g3XffkuAgHlm0s_jpYOBT20_1Pi_KWbUOD1o5-yDur44ogyfUvazLJFS4dVHE-FZrNy6HgYmrpVd56UQtKaJMMSPpYys/s320/image002.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5194859846284143922" />

Still trying. The original plan was to have friends and family over for a little cake and celebration. But early Saturday morning Jordan woke up throwing up and continued to throw up most of the day. Ken moved his friend party to the bowling alley and then they all went out to dinner. As you can tell by the photos it appears they had a great time. Then a few of Ken’s came over and stayed the night. I was told that they stayed up til past 2:00am. I remember those younger years that I could stay up all hours of the night. Now 10:00pm hits and I am ready to collapse. Lol

Then on Monday we made dinner of Ken’s choice…….French Dips. Then we had birthday cake for dessert, lemon cake with lemon frosting.Michellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10675479388549646490noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6032850196754369598.post-79965215918786143842008-04-24T13:12:00.000-07:002008-04-24T13:19:49.641-07:00What's in a name?????????????????Apparently there is another me out there. Let me explain………………

The other day I was sitting on my lap tap bored while watching TV. I decided to start looking up all my old friends on myspace. I found a lot of people and have sent comments and requests to be a friend on myspace. When I could not longer think if anymore names to look up. When I thought for kicks I would look up my name, Michelle Willoughby. I got four pages, with ten people on each page that came up under my name or their name…..hmmm (That’s a whole other discussion) Anyway as I was checking me or them out I came across a me that lived right here in my backyard, Blaine, WA.

You’re thinking that is just crazy…….just wait there is more.

I sent her a comment and requested her to be a friend on myspace. She accepted right away and we have been talking ever since.

Here is her or my side of the story:

She says she always running in to me wherever she goes (on computers). She would run into paper me at Dr's offices, the library, grocery stores and so many other places. She would have to give her birthday so they knew which Michelle Willoughby they had in front of them.

Just wait there is more………

As we have been chatting we found out we even have the same middle name. I know you’re thinking NO WAY THAT IS JUST NUTS!!!! There are two Michelle Marie Willoughby’s. Not only that but they live about 15 minutes from each other.

You all know what I look like, but I thought I would let you see what the other Michelle Willoughby looks like, just in case you happen to meet her. But it's the cracks and flaws we each
have that make our lives together so very interesting and rewarding.

You've just got to take each person for what they are and look for the good
in them.

SO, to all of my crackpot friends, have a great day and remember to smell
the flowers on your side of the path!Michellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10675479388549646490noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6032850196754369598.post-13259969892164695142008-04-13T13:41:00.000-07:002008-04-14T08:38:47.517-07:00Spring was here. This was our yard at the end of the summer, before we or Andy aka Dad planted grass. We started on the outside. It was a beautiful spring day. The temperature was perfect, not to hot and not to cold. The plan was David would mow the lawn and I would take the weed eater around the house. Our weed eater had a different plan. It would start, but was having issues. It would quit when I started to use it. While David worked on that I mowed the whole front yard and a little bit of the back yard. The majority of our back yard is still too wet to be mowed. He got the weed eater up and running. While I did the weed eating David lowered the blade on the mower and went over the front yard again.

After I cleaned up the grass all over my body (weed eating is messy lol) I headed in and started working on cleaning the house. Ken had already started on cleaning the kitchen. He is such a good kid. I worked on the rest of the house. I also did a ton of laundry, even got it folded and put away.

Once everything was done I took a long shower and went out on my deck and enjoyed the beautiful sunshine. I put my feet up and fell fast asleep. Between my yard and the house I was exhausted, but it was worth it. Sitting out on the desk with the sun on my face smelling the fresh cut grass and a clean house inside. It felt good to get it all done. Spring is here, and I love it.Michellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10675479388549646490noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6032850196754369598.post-71679204353365929272008-04-12T18:53:00.000-07:002008-04-13T09:16:19.750-07:00Back to Soccer again.........Don't have any photo's of my soccer injury. I thought I would post a photo that David took last week at the Squaliqum HS vs Sehome HS Soccer team. OUCH!!! Soccer is brutal. <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjynIismkrcxF2SGOQUKEFvJXR5SSHpovJ77a-0WsvjyMQBh9Yl-a3X0YlkUaCAcPqdUOf-wCvWBURIQevWZosQo8nAbeiA729ESK9X8WDWO7Q1iHSLeLtp32Msp5vXh8KqShdixfB2wok/s320/081+SQHS+vs+SHS+Soccer+081.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5188543345771922658" />

Some people may not know this about me I played Soccer in high school. I made the varsity team my freshmen year. Now don’t get the wrong impression that I was this incredible soccer player. My freshmen year was the first year Ferndale had a girl’s soccer team, so the competition was not that tough. I loved being part of the team. I made a lot of good friends while I played.

When David and I first got married and moved to Arizona I talked him into joining a co-ed soccer team. It wasn’t what I expected. Playing with boys or men was a different ball game….no pun intended. lol I really didn’t like playing anymore. The men on our team were way too competitive for my taste. I liked to have fun win or lose. After I became pregnant with Jordan I just never went back. David caught the soccer bug. He has been playing ever since. He has also been begging….bugging etc to get me play again. The combination of not enjoying playing with men and being extremely out of shape I did not join again.

Well then I decided to run a marathon………yes you read right a marathon. I am going to run with the Leukemia Lymphoma Society. Both Leukemia and Lymphoma have touched me very personally. Last January David suggested that I play on his soccer team to help with my training. I hesitated because like I said I really don’t like playing with men because they can be so competitive. David promised me that the guys on his team are nothing like our team in AZ. I thought what the heck I will give it a try.

Now mind you I didn’t just go out on the field and start playing. I had been working out three –four days a week at the gym for a couple months by the time the session started. I did ok the first couple of games. I was still very sore after each game. After each game it required a long soak in our hot tub and a lot of Ibuprofen for several days after the games. But I was out there doing it and don’t tell David I am having fun. I am very very slow, but still have a little taste of the same skills I had in high school.

At all our games I was playing the same position I played in high school full back, which is a defensive position. Then during my last game I moved up to forward position. I don’t know why this makes a difference; maybe I am just trying to put the pieces together. At one point during the game I had the ball. I turned around and kicked it a little too hard. When I started to run to get it I felt something like a hit me on the back of my ankle, my Achilles tendon area. Then of course in all my grace I tripped and fell. The rest of the game I limped around. Each time I tried to take off in a run the pain would keep me back.

I went home and my wonderful loving husband took care of me. I then proceeded to limp around for several days. By Wednesday I was still limping and getting frustrated, so I went to see my DR. She of course confirmed that I had pulled my Achilles tendon, with a possible tear. Her instructions were to stay off my leg as much as possible and no working out for a while. I asked her if I could start again in a week. She said as long as I did it slow. She said that when I did start to work out to stop immediately if I felt any pain.

Last Monday I went to the gym to do my first work out. Did the stretches the Dr told me to do. I got on the Elliptical, no resistance no incline just simple easy workout, didn’t even push as hard as I always do. I put the timer on for an hour. Figured that I would just try for the whole hour, but if there was any pain I would stop. I went the whole hour and nothing. Until I got off the machine and total pain while I walked going down the stairs was like someone was pushing a nail through my ankle.

I made it home put my ankle up and iced it. Then I proceeded to limp around for the next couple of days. I didn’t work out for the rest of the week. I am no longer limping, but still feel pain when I move certain way or if I move too quick. It is really frustrating. I want to get back to soccer. I also want to get back to the gym. I love the way I feel when I work out. If anyone has any suggestions or knows how long it takes for this to heal please let me know. I want to get back on track to getting into shape. I will try again this week. Wish me luck.Michellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10675479388549646490noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6032850196754369598.post-18728529507278518212008-04-06T19:22:00.000-07:002008-04-07T07:40:37.919-07:00My Mom!!!This photo is old and worn as you can see. I started the day feeling really down. I had a headache and felt very very alone. I felt like I was the only one that remembers what today was all about. My family and friends might remember that she died in April but not the exact date. I even had one family member surprised that it was in April she thought that it was in the fall. Anyway today is the day. Each year seems just as hard as the last. I am sad and quiet just thinking about my mom. I cry throughout the day. I remember a nurse at the hospital when mom was sick once told me that crying is our way of letting off steam like a tea kettle. If we don’t let it out we would explode. I guess I won’t be exploding today that’s for sure.

Here are some of the thoughts that I had going through my head today. I just wanted to share a little bit with everyone about my mother.
For a majority of my childhood my mother was a stay-at-home mom. All my friends called her mom. My mom grew to the full height of 4’ 11” inches……I know dad and a ½”, for a little lady she had a huge heart.

When I became a 6th grader I joined our church youth group. My parents became our youth leaders. My mom had some crazy ideas to keep us teenagers busy. One year as a fundraiser mom had us go thru our neighborhood knocking on doors. The first house we would say we are with the Custer United Methodist Church Youth Group and we are getting ready for Easter. Could you donate an egg to our cause? Some would donate one and some would donate a whole dozen. Then the next house we would say the same thing only we would ask them to buy our egg or eggs for a donation. I remember that everyone was receptive….they all knew my mom. I don’t remember what kind of money we made. I just remember we had such a fun time doing it.

Every year our youth group would go to convocation. It was a youth retreat at Central Washington University. We would go there for a three-day weekend and stay in the dorms. One year my mom brought a couple dozen bags of marshmallows. That night our floor had a marshmallow war in the halls. I remember laughing so hard I almost wet my pants. lol

My mom was one hell of a cook and baker. I picked up some of her baking skills, but not so much of her cooking skills. She always seemed to have enough food for anyone that just happened to stop by at dinnertime. I have no idea how she did it, but we never ran low. My cousin Galen called my mom “The Goddess of the Kitchen” I happen to agree. She could smell and spice and know it would go good with what she was cooking. Thanks to my Auntie Clara, fabulous piecrust recipe, she made pies that would just melt in your mouth. I am still trying to figure out her pumpkin pie recipe. She had a lot of secret ingredients she would use in recipes.

My mom also taught me the proper way to TP a house. She was the pro of pros when it came to doing the deed. lol On the day of her funeral my cousin Anita and I went out and TP’s a bush at each one of her friends. It was good therapy that day.
My mom could make anyone laugh. She was quick with a joke. My daughter Jordan reminds me of her, with her quick wit and humor.

My mom was always giving herself to anyone that needed help. She had a talent to make beautiful flower arrangements. She would offer her services to anyone that needed an arrangement at no charge. You bought the flowers she would arrange them. She did countless weddings for friends and family.

In March of 1991 mom was diagnosed with Large Cell Lymphoma. She went through six months of chemotherapy. After that she was in remission for two maybe three months. When the cancer came back it was throughout her entire body. The Dr’s tried hard to rid her body of it, but it was just too powerful.

As I grew up my mom was always there for me. Yes we did fight as any teenage girl does with their mother, but I knew I could always count on my mom. I was 22-years-old when my mom died. I was almost old enough to start the next stage in life that mothers and daughters go through where they become friends. I wish we had to chance to get to know each other on a whole different level. I loved and enjoyed my mother growing up. I know we would have been best friends as adults.

My daughter Jordan reminds me in so many ways of my mom. She has the same quick wit and humor like my mom. She has the same color eyes as my mom. It was predicted that Jordan would be lucky if she grew up to be 5’ tall. The Dr said and that would be on a good day, maybe it will be 4’ 11 and ½. I see my daughter being the little women like my mother with a huge heart too. I wish she had a chance to meet her
grandmother. My mom would have spoiled Jordan rotten with hugs, kisses and pure love.

My husband David never got the privilege of meeting my mom. I know that if they had ever met we would never stop laughing between the two of them. I also know we might not be safe from the jokes they would think up together. They would have been fighting for the last sarcastic word or last laugh. David also reminds me of my mom. When things get stressful and tense my mom would try to say something funny to lighten things up. That is David.

My Dad came through for me today. He called to see how I was doing. His call reminded me that I was not as alone today as I thought. He and I spent the afternoon together. We went and got some beautiful flowers and took them out to mom’s grave site. He held me while I cried. We both miss her very very much. Thanks Dad you really don’t know how much today meant to me.

Mom I know you are up there taking care of God’s children. I am sure you already know that you are still very much loved down. I miss you more than anyone will ever know. Thank you for being the greatest mom a girl could ever possibly have. I know that someday we will be together.Michellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10675479388549646490noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6032850196754369598.post-25204977462056306472008-03-23T18:46:00.000-07:002008-03-23T19:38:32.165-07:00Happy Easter!!!!Happy Easter. Can you believe three posts in three days. Wow its a miracle. For Easter we woke up to an excited daughter wanting us to get hp so that she could find all the stuff the Easter Bunny hide for her. It was about 8am.

For the afternoon we went over to Karla's parents house, Bob and Marty for lunch. We all stuffed ourselves and enjoyed good conversation. (Thanks Don for hooking us up with our T-shirts. You know on Monday Michelle and I will be sporting them proudly at work.) Anyway it was an 80's theme dance. We all went dressed up and had a great time. It brought back great memories. Karla and her friend Robin was there as well. I must say that Karla's hair looked totally awesome to the max. Anyway enjoy the pictures.

David before.<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtOA3kMhEcuqza1k1yke5rMoMaMZ5H1v8iCRG7-cBLfhVB-1F56tJx3fdg2cvFEz3KMhXB2fTv7ojyl6aBaKt3UtZk-ez4y1uZ_Gplabvg784v8_EVT1qH-FVasAQiIIKpeqX0NTddbL0/s320/80+001.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5180854177582195074" />

David after the cut with his new mohawk.<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhe4JbtMTAj4aknTd7CmkfwwYbX676m6vyy5mgr_oQsby0J1WGcMrdvWuawFOmvpe9PbHAY81qMSXIZDe7EJDO1Qb3z3mzJ9ZVZbF6WGUmgKNoLwvYM0027uoLHf6BRS-YxarfkaGx5V-U/s320/80+002.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5180854181877162386" />

At one with the hawk/<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixxFGWXfUUTxzlEJ_CXDPYfFQ8g3GNKAFSQPHFoBY06rkLjlpDuckuiBCHzCE5ogJd7w9W48LcF7aUHPXbxfYCgeC-wmRDfUXTYn2eLOL6ncWGeXPD_GJIwYaI6v0xH9pKNqTqxpWnmek/s320/80+007.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5180854349380887010" />

Us in full 80's gear. <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgikf8zzc-MGPjnX_zlU6ylaLvEV23XpSGPJ3Rnf5bLe8MkC0O6ggmrCPdLX0nheMYRgTzEQnvzgnsjnGhWEaGevIF1afdvZdRkkTcFfUolWNGv1eAIP8jOtZpocNgKOjfxTM6beDQg5tE/s320/80+006.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5180854349380886994" />

D & M #2.<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiojDBi7sNk7SBW6-53DvALrQtrVcvGzcd8akXoORqh40KqkpPdcA5rdePA1DKX8597t9vEgvkCQ6TWfY1297mX6X4m2bV-POaqIyzcrtG3CrlWBjn9eZEBAWAwJl0ziiRwMwBdtnlFI-g/s320/80+003.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5180854186172129698" />

The Michelle's. <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZ9-nfh_6THgWkXguv7Um9lkfnRh42cR4m0CngLnV4u2RUoQgHiXfF_Sv_eFlTbAcu9fyrcUvXrN3L0aS3k1cm8eWBGWyHZFOHUAbMBio7X4k5zhVsQFMO2TF5bLkszzr90NFm9DE6pQM/s320/80+004.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5180854190467097010" />

Did we really wear our hair and make-up like this? First was Jordan had an orchestra concert. It was with three other elementary schools, two middle schools and one high school. It was a good concert listening to all the schools. Each school did their own little concert. Then at the end they did three songs all together. The amazing part was they had never practice together before. The first song went off with out a hitch. The second song took a second start but end good. It just amazes me how much she has learning in just a few months.

In middle school the kids have a choice of doing orchestra or band. We have left the decision up to Jordan. She can either continue with the violin or decide to play in the band. David and I still have our instruments from when we were both in band. David played the trumpet and I played the flute. Karla did point out that we should let Jordan know that if she chooses band she might not have any classes with her best buddy Summer. They tend to keep the orchestra students together and vis versa with the band students. It is all in her hands now.

Thursday night we did the typical Easter tradition of coloring eggs. This was Ken’s first time coloring eggs. I think he enjoyed it, but don’t tell his friends. lol It was fun watching them work together. Ken is so good with Jordan. We really lucked out getting such a good young man. He parents should be very proud of him. Thanks Ken for being such a good big brother to Jordan.

Working as a creative team! <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjoKuHtDP5T5KEjsb1H2Z2tFyFWBRAEYVL5bbfm8HnG_t2S_cnPjOih1Rpjyb0kYm-Ov0LTFfWM9gzIHMz_fLe1NHi9od8ZibJuMT97PtF_2EGBlhSuenmkVR9sHvYN_Kkhb-a3SQXbQzo/s320/blog+003.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5180446022545088818" />
Check it out!!!<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6UFnl7zMi3mchyqXxiKscaTZL9TdOcQHvkB5wLHMXv2rB6aD2j3_0nybEcI2kJMpxDF7ll891JYTsNv6jhI6bX3KpTChYi2rLzxx_2DTQZBaRD5KK2SEc_HNkp5V44J1RkYW3O2J9_tQ/s320/blog+004.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5180446026840056130" />

Ken's first eggs. <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_Xop0tWras0tosGfMN4EP9P8XATxk0Dqdth_oSwDts-ie0mxqfhADIxYu-oq1AWZGGQ6tBrA9Qkmc1hC2eJECXB97VZz-xSw4ZOKpXHeBkeeCXT5IPtMYk9s4WernCuJo9FQrpg_0bCA/s320/blog+005.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5180446026840056146" />

The final results. It has taken my dad three times to book and then re-book. As they say third time is a charm.

Our cruise left on Sunday afternoon of February 10th. This made for a long day for all of us. For me it started with packing all day on Saturday in between running errands and getting the house clean. I always love coming home to a clean house, plus we had our good friend Steve house sitting for us. I was all done packing by 11:00pm. I was able to lay-down and try to get a couple hours of sleep. I then got up at 1:30am got showered and finished up the last bit of packing. We hit the road at 2:50am to meet at my dad’s house at 3:00. Since there were nine of us going down to the airport we had to take two different cars.

Forget the stroller this is more fun. Thanks Michelle S for loaning me the luggage. I know Sammy enjoyed it. lol<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjeBeCGX8yVdHhQLjTU1icoPuMewYXt_n1OFXAhqw535eB1NFnA8OloPNH19OCoYG0vsvOQsr79iupSZBIldcySssTiA4nEoa3eJKIWWgnxHBgqwcUh2Oc87ACdYdyjzG20QWaRMw27_9I/s320/suitsam2.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5172855658728059282" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjaGLupjmFf7KQdRnPv60PcfIbrS6gfmssOScDif2qzsm0p-PWgiKUwVozykNvI0fAiJdSqJAZ3pxtWE0XRw8wRyVbhVZww7V2j-Jg-K3REzJHKK7Bw6qiFXFl07xuQYDhNWo7ZJ5iZuzE/s320/suitsam.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5172855658728059298" />
We got down to Seattle in good time got all check in. David took Ken over and got him on his plane to San Francisco for the week. Once we got out luggage we called our transportation…the limo we set off on our 30 min trip to the ship. Since my Dad and Karla were Carnival Cruise Club Members we got to go in the V.I.P. line to check into our rooms. Mind you this is all done on shore. Then we got the line up to eventually get on the ship. Thanks to Bob, Karla’s Dad found out that we didn’t need to stand in line with the common people. Yes the V.I.P. line had gone to my head. lol We were able to go right on the ship. Once on the ship we could not yet go to our rooms, they were still being prepared for us. We were instructed to go up to the Mermaid Lounge for so lunch. This was the beginning of our weeklong feast of good food. There was a saying on the boat…..Eat until your tired and sleep until our hungry. It was good food. They seem to have something to please everyone. There was pizza, Asian, sandwiches, fried foods, burgers and dogs. Then yummy desserts as well. After lunch we still had some time to wonder around the ship to check things out. There was a lot to see. Finally sometime after 1pm we were able to go to our rooms. Needless to say we all took a much-needed nap. With the exception of the kids us Adults only had about an hour maybe two of sleep the night before. I kept the curtain open so that we wouldn’t sleep for too long. After our naps our luggage arrived, so it was time to unpack. While David and Jordan did more ship exploring, Mandi and I worked on unpacking. It was then time to get ready for dinner.

Mandi getting out of our Limo <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkiu13qhIFmX5N6AmAnLdiJhdLpvzxeeQRGytUaP_fg9YeifcxxeebzdpMnNW8vXivOIOAnd2JxirkLbpK1th_h-xB4NXy7WkcINB1Qh0XmBkXzY6N2VyL7S8nfPEA7Q_AzcUEJFYQu-w/s320/limo.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5172855654433091970" />
It is preferred by the ship that we get dressed up for dinners. They have two formal nights on the ship; the rest of the time is resort casual. They do not like to see shorts or jeans in the dinning rooms. Not that they would turn you away. I saw plenty of shorts. Our first night was a resort casual. We got cleaned up, changed and headed to dinner. Each night you get to choose a started, salad and a main course. I think Jordan had either steak or prime rib each night. She was in seventh heaven. I on the other had tried things that I would have never ordered in a regular restaurant. The nice thing about the cruise that if you didn’t like it you could order something else. It doesn’t cost extra.

After dinner we walked around the ship some more then headed back to our room. Jordan and Mandi were really tired so they decided to stay in for the night. Dad, Karla, Dave and I headed out for some fun. We went to the show that night. It was cute, but when Simon says on American Idol says you sounded very cruise ship…..I now understand. They did a good job with the shows, but they for sure are not going to be recording artist. Before the show they had a Trivia Game where David and I along with another women were playing against each other. David of course won….I let him. lol He prize was a trophy. They introduced it as a 24-karat plastic ship on a stick. I won a medal. After the show we ended up at the Karaoke bar, which is where you could find us just about every night. Karla and David did all the singing. Dad and I just sat back and cheered them on.

Karla showing her singing skills. <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMe7xoGzZ2-ONePVUZDLWNRDSw_gb2DIrVY07BSsYtUNpPM0qxlNTE7BQrsnaFukEorSMjQ4bV1z0-f2b0bBa19UcIrc9PJ4TjoCmpDLG_ktHgSe-jowf1bepgKTU5xti6IGJmzNHoJw4/s320/oakie.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5172859262205620674" />
The next day they call it a fun day at sea. We got up had breakfast then look and the daily schedule. Jordan went to the kids club for a few hours. David and I went to I think Trivia game. Played that for a while then headed up to the upper deck where we watched the hairiest man competition. I tell you some of those guys were growing their own sweaters. It was fun to watch. After that Jordan wanted to go on the water slide and swimming. So I planted my rear on a lounge chair and soaked in the sun. I know tough life. That is when we found out that they fill the pool with salt water. We never did ask why? That night was much of the same. The girls went to bed and we went to Karaoke.

Tuesday was another fun day at sea. We did much of the same as the day before, but rather then hairy men they had a Fear Factor game. To which David was chosen. Sorry didn’t have the camera. He first had to dive into the pool and get as many golf balls off the bottom. The two people with the least got cut. Then they had to drink some sort of drink and eat a banana. They never did say what was in the drink. David said tasted like chicken fat with Thousand Island dressing and fruit juice mixed together. The two that won got to go on to the last round. David made it in by the skin of his teeth. It was then the two David’s competing for the Fear Factor Title. The other David was from WA too he was a big guy. I never thought Dave could beat him and Dave was thinking the same thing. They had to eat a huge slice of pepperoni pizza with an ice cream cone on the top. Dave said it wasn’t too bad. The ice cream gave him some liquid to help get the pizza down. At one point the crowd was chanting Dave! Dave! Dave! I must say my David kicked butt. Yes he won another ship on a stick. WOOHOO!!! That evening after dinner Jordan and I stayed in the room with Sammy, who sat and watch the entire movie of Toy Story her favorite. If you interrupt her at all or she starts to cry….Woody Woody!! After Sammy went to bed and Bob came back I headed out to find Dave and the gang at Karaoke. I know we are boring, but it was fun. Lol

Wednesday was our first shore time. We were at Puerto Vallarta. We left the ship about 7:30am and went on a jungle excursion. We took several stops for shopping and photo-opts. Then we got up into the “Jungle”. It wasn’t like the one that my dad and I went on 16 years ago. We ended up going on a hike. David and I were the only ones that went with the group. It had some rough terrain, but was a good hike. On the way back to the ship we stop at a tequila factory. David said it was the best he has every tasted…Karla too. We thought about buying a bottle, but it was $35.00 a bottle. Now we are kicking ourselves for not buying it. Thanks for Jordan for taking photo’s while we were there at least we know the name of the place. We got back the ship about 3:00pm and we all took a much-needed nap. It was hot that day, but still nice. After our nap it was time for dinner. None of us really wanted to get too dressed up. So we went very very resort casual. I think every one, but David and I crashed early that night. He and I wondered around the different areas watching things.

This is the name of the tequila that they loved. If you ever go we will give you the money to buy us a bottle.<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWPqTiqT2rOuSUzGySgxg4gH9K-d9v2SG0crsAczD6gLXEvjViEnDZYObuMLAsFtO6epFnaURkrLoyu4J8l8ytM-7YtHhYAtaU7goC6NO1TLJXdJkxMOZlzLnMft0X13fC613nQSa8BbM/s320/don.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5172855663023026610" />
The next day was Mazatlan. David, Jordan and I along with some friends we meet went crashed the resort Pueblo Bonito. Our friends where Travis and Anna, really nice couple we meet. They had a cabin next to ours; the bonus part is that they live in Arlington. Any way the resort we crashed is the one we went to two years ago for vacation. Where we had planned on going swimming, but is was a little cold for us adults. So we sat around and had a few drinks and nachos while Jordan went swimming in their pool. After swimming Jordan got her hair braided and we headed across the street to eat lunch and our favorite restaurant for a side of cow…..I mean steak. Then we walked down the street for some shopping before we caught a taxi back to the ship.

Our friends Travis and Anna sitting next to me. Have no idea who the other couple is.<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEham4MDwT3TTQy0C2ptWGw-iLKD-23Oo6pryaxRVItm5Dul9QPxMQ-XD5OPGAiVCDiub6VTSfNbym0p2lThengE7vw490qmG6zDeoul1yn008H6iqmTjZF6bt_kjQ2nkyqie6qV2-xO6zE/s320/friends.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5172859266500587986" />
Once we arrived to the terminal to get to the ship I noticed this rather hammered young girl. She had on a bikini on and the bottoms were rather low. I asked her if her parents were there? She said no her boyfriend was there. He didn’t look too with it himself. I leaned over and told her I was going to pull up her bathing suit. She then clung onto me. I ended up taking her back to the ship. Thank goodness she was skinny girl I would have never made it. I got her to the room laid down a bunch of towels on her bed and the floor. Then I got the trashcan and put it by her. Laid her down and it all started to come up. I had hope she learned her lesson. Drinking too much it not good or fun in the end. That night after dinner I got chosen to play survivor. I made it down to the final three, but got voted out. We didn’t have our camera, but I think Karla did.

Friday was our final shore stop was Cabo San Lucas. Bob took us to his time-share for the day. It was a beautiful resort right on the beach. We went swimming in a very cold pool then walked around on the beach. Bob treated us to lunch, and then it was back to the ship for us. We did do a little bit of shopping before we got back on the ship. Since David and I were not the least bit hungry for the 6pm dinner. We waited for the 8pm and eat with Travis and Anna and of course more Karaoke.

Then next day was our last fun day at sea. It was a bit rocky going home. They go a bit faster then they do going down. It wasn’t too bad. That day we chilled and just relaxed on our last day. That night we had our last formal night. We got all dressed up for dinner. After dinner we went back to change for the show. Then we headed to the theater to get good seats. We wanted front row because Travis was in the show. Part of Karaoke was they had try-outs for parts in the show. Some of the parts where Madonna, Garth Brooks and Ricky Martin, Travis got the Ricky Martin part. I think it was the best show of the week. Travis did an awesome job. At midnight they had a big huge buffet that had some incredible ice carvings and food creations. We walked up there to check it out. The food look awesome, but I was nowhere near hungry. We then hit the hay we had to be off the ship at 7ish.

The next morning we got off the ship and headed to the airport. Our plane didn’t leave until 7:45pm. Our plan was to try and get on the 1:30pm flight. It was a no go when we got there. Lucky for us they let us check in out 12 pieces of luggage, but we were way too early to get our boarding passes. So we headed over to the terminal where we could get some food and find a place to sit. Once we got there Bob and my dad decided we would take a little detour since we had soooooo much time on our hands. It was off to Disneyland for about five hours.

On our way into Disney<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7UoRsTBPYwRpDpq9DM-dEY5r3HoeVQQk1d5g8tli4sq0qyTT3ABKD_1J8lzZph9wc1ewuR3QP-KYdD4dz2ljaoV0KHNvfS84RmJNU2TBFoW6ks5D218fM_P_TEKcVZiv0frhxhCt7HJg/s320/disney.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5172860262933000674" />

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqpBidZwE9RAeo3GSNJsW21wumaBrBgeRlfrod8I5hYaE3mSkIF4HsXsS7fpx2bqIyzf7-wsUvQNgrKCz1q_rOBSJihyphenhyphenCwg1-tqFj8l7rh7s29Wp0i17_5mHuRvVyJoaEwOFzdbHjYRYQ/s320/thegang.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5172860267227967986" />

Mandi, David, Jordan and I waiting in line for the Indiana Jones ride. <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-bQL7ulu9tgjHHRiIF7Iwsg586SwztF6SDGoHAACa9DpSXR3wZmgr6lcWC33wys27etIfJZgwJYsAuzcQ10npx06UvXCWTqWF8joIsZzvfeQq-uZ0eWttQmuA4fPQN7O9xm8uPJN75GI/s320/indiana.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5172860271522935298" />

Dave and Jordan on Jordan's favorite ride Thunder Mt. <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1YSEsz6Zt1gbda7pTaQqQ24M3T4V-slC-a0XsghkBVHqIKwv0qVe9wzULJ_citf02Lw24N_Uu0xmdHyEINU_aj-jekD8jqt_jzPqnPsBncyRJT2wOJJxXBzVJgskKMdsclQ6MDiUKVqo/s320/thunder.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5172860275817902610" />

Waiting in line for the Buzz Lightyear ride<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlGHgtvi5R5wwzpzxxs3M8uwCWwteIO8Q9MbjGeQnoh6B2ElrG6tj7J2N5ZbcGui_3yDHWfxc0_mT99dG4XrTs_1vAToNumPfHREEv9scpjliuMv6tgUf3WZotbNUDOaLDl3tbiZoOsUA/s320/buzz.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5172860275817902626" />

I must say that when the day was over we were exhausted, but I tell you we had a blast. Jordan Mandi, David and I ran around the park and got on a couple of rides. Then we met up with Dad, Karla, Sammy and Bob. Hit a few more rides. Then the highlight of the day was Sammy got to meet Woody. She was a little scared of him, but you could tell she enjoyed it. It was cute to watch her. Then even cuter when he left and she kept look around calling Woody…..Woody.

We got back to Seattle and meet Ken got all loaded up. I think it was after midnight when we finally walked in our door. We had a wonderful, fabulous, fantastic vacation, but I must tell you that it felt so good to crawl back into my own bed. We all slept very very well that night. Thank you very MUCH!! Dad and Karla for providing us with another great vacation.Michellehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10675479388549646490noreply@blogger.com3
